Kembang Island
Kembang Island is a delta located in the middle of Barito River. This tourism object usually offered in one package with floating market. This island grown by typical trees of Kalimantan. The thickness of tree turn the place into a heaven for several species, such as monkey and bird. Indeed, based on growing story, there is a king of monkey flock in this island. Therefore, the monkey are sacred by local Chinese people.
To show some respect to the monkeys were believed to be guardians of the island, the local Chinese people built a temple in the forest area which is equipped with two statues of white monkey. In this places, local Chinese people will routinely put an offering as a form of respect. Moreover, if a vow comes true, a male goat with golden-layered horns is released in the island forest.
